Welcome to Fairy Tales,

My name is Barbara and I am the face behind Fairy Tales Wedding and Events Specialists. If you asked me when I was growing up if I would have ever viewed myself working within the wedding industry, the answer would have been a resounding no, for me I was never the type to have planned things out. However, thinking back I always desired to design. I remember designing and drawing wedding dresses and furniture as a little girl.

When I eventually got married many years ago, I knew that I wanted chair covers but, in Northern Ireland this was virtually unheard of. So in 2004, Fairy Tales and my love of all things weddings were birthed.

There are many things that drive me in my work but, honestly my main drive is the gasp of a satisfied bride as she opens the doors to her beautifully dressed room, created especially with her in mind.

Our focus in what we do is the bride & groom. It is my desire that we go on a journey of discovery to find out what they feel comfortable with, what they love and what they don’t like so much. I understand that there is so much to take in and I know it so easy to get totally overwhelmed when planning a wedding, which is why we take everything step by step.

There are so many things that I adore about my job, but I mostly love when we get couples who come in totally uncertain about what they want or need. I love being able to walk hand-in-hand to build their vision and make it their reality.

The backbone of what I do is my team; without them, my vision for Fairytales would not be possible. From Justine in the office waiting to book our brides and grooms into our design house, processing the order and payments right thought to the laundry to Jim who keeps us on our toes, Sharon and Jo, our designers and florists and Pamela who does everything in between. Without these amazing guys I could never do what I do.

It is my greatest desire that you, our beautiful brides and grooms know that you are so special to us. My aim is to make your wedding dreams become reality in the least stressful way possible. I really love what I do and it is my hope that this love pours out into every area of your planning process.
